Hello Everyone,
My silly husband chewed me out today! Why you say? Because of my 8-year old dog Ms. Champ. I had a doghouse built for my beautiful dog Champ. I paid $750.00 for it, and worked extra hours just to have it built just the way I wanted it. It has two rooms, a porch, insulated, doghouse heater and air conditioner and same brick to match our house. The A-line roof has hinges so I can lift the top to the side to clean champ house. I also had her name engraved in the house. When Champ saw it she stiffed it, walked around it, and still hasn’t went in her palace, but she will. When my husband saw it today he looked at me and shook his head and started in on me. “A DOG DON’T NEED SHELTER” and “A DOG DON’T GET COLD, THEY ALREADY HAVE ON A COAT”! BULL CRAP! Dogs have feelings and can die from intense heat and cold.
Ms. Champ lives outside and since we moved Dec.06 we left her old house. My husband told me he would get a new one; I would be still waiting if I had to wait on him…so I did it myself! Ms. Champ doesn’t have to worry about the icy cold winter or the heat of the summer. I love my dog!

ENGLISH 1101 ON THE BRAIN
Howdy yall!
I couldn't sleep last night, had English 1101 on the brain. I've been thinking that by taking Eng. online would be a breeze, but that's what I get for thinking. I do like my class and yes my instructor is a genius in more ways than one.We have to critically think and analyze in sorts of ways,we also have to do a lot of reading, writing and it takes time. Last night as I lay in the bed, I asked myself a question,Wonder if my instructor is thinking of her next assignment and wonder what her next move will be? Sounds a bit crazy huh! I'm not crazy yall, I just want to do well. I'm a non-traditional student and I take school more serious now than when I was younger.
The creativity parts of my brain is waking up! Wonder do my instructor know she keep me up some nights just sorting out my thoughts about my assignments. Blogging takes some creativity and thought too. This is my first blog and I rather like it and it eases stress. I know as the weeks go by it will get easier, but for right now i'm taking it one day at a time.

GOD'S FAVORITE COLORS ?
Hello again,
I have a question for you guys! No, I don't have a lot of time on my hands and I think I'm perfectly sane. However, have you ever asked the question,WHY? Where did we come from? Why are we here and for what purpose? Well, I have one simple question,What's God favorite color? I'm no expert on our creator favorite colors, but I'm not blind. I know it's not really important but humor me.
If I can make a educated guess, I would look up and say blue, and look around and it would be green. But more importantly, I would look at what he made in his image and I could only say that a soul doesn't have a color. If it does, please let me know. My conclusion to my educated guess is that God like a variety of color, but he's mainly into unblemished souls.

DISCOURSE COMMUNITIES ?
Hello,Hello,
Guess what where learning about in English 1101? First, we're watching a funny movie named Miss Congeniality ,we're basically analyzing it in various ways. Took notes and looked at the movie twice to get what i didnt want to miss, which I pray I got what was needed. Something like that!
We're also learning about discourse communities, a term I recently learned. So don't act as if you knew what it was already! Discourse communities is a group of people that share the same beliefs or have the same goal. That basically sums it up, it's a simple definition with broad outlook. There are so many communities out there like religion, educational groups, activists, weight watchers,so many more. Do you think some groups think there superior to others? Of course they do! Just choose wisely and don't forget to follow peace with all men(mankind).

CAN YOU SPELL THE MONTHS OF THE YEAR ?
Hello,
Can you spell the months of the year? I sure hope you can! My 15 yr.old son Jamal asked me to spell Feb. tonight. I spelled it F-E-B-U-, NO! NO! NO! MOM! You are a college student and can't spell! He thought that was hilarious! He asked his dad and sister they were both wrong, he thought that was so funny. My daughter is an honor student straight A's, but can't spell Feb.
We didn't get angry with Jamal, but laugh with him, he made a point. Spelling the months of the year or any word correctly is important and it's something to really think about. Today, we use spellcheck for everything, but what if we didn't have spellcheck. Thought I would share that with you guys. Oh yeah! Can you spell Feb. correctly?

FLOWING TEARS
Hi,
I don't usually forward videos but when I find something good ,I don't keep it to myself, I share. I must share this awesome video with you guys of a man that sings out of his soul. He might be a little off beat, but God knows it's sincere. When I heard and seen him in action the tears started to flow. My husband shook his head in unbelief, my children giggled a little, but I see a determine man with a message for believers regardless of the delivery.
This video is real and this man is attending a funeral, and everyone is asked if they would like to say something about the departed or to the family members. I hope you see the message and the passion in this uplifting song.

IT'S RAINING! IT'S POURING! THE OLD MAN IS SNORING!

Hi,
I would love to be in Hawaii at this moment because
it's raining like cats and dogs here in Valdosta! It's about time we're long over due for some rain. I can recall as a child, that it rained almost everyday in April, but not anymore. Remember the saying, "April showers bring May flowers". I also can recall the sky having millions of stars, my siblings and I would lie on the grass and try to count all the stars never could it was too many. Now, I may see one or two stars, where have they gone? I couldn't tell you, but I sure do miss them.
Things have really change in this world.
The old folk you to say,"Time always bring about a change", and that's so true. They also would say, "There's nothing new under the sun, and that is also true, they got that from a passage in the Bible. Now I'm saying, If you see a red dodge magnum in the parking lot at VSU, don't hit it ,scratch it ,dent it,or even breathe on it. That was kinda funny, wasn't it? even breathe on it, I would think so! I'm off to take a nap.

RED & BEAUTIFUL!
Hello Eng1101,
I hope everyone is doing great and in good health. I'm doing great and love life! I have some happiness to share with you guys. I'd purchased a new car yesterday! A bold red Dodge Magnum and it's beautiful!. Today, the oil and brake light came on, yes I was a bit anger, but I was told they will take care of it Monday. I hope it will turn out well.
I'm so glad I didn't have a salesman pressuring me.....I knew what I wanted and they delivered! Didn't want any brake or oil troubles but I got that too! Oh yeah!, what about a new car scent? I just love the scent of a new vehicle, don't you? Of course you do! It's like no other scent I've ever smelled. I'm so excited about my vehicle and I know you're happy for me.
Sharing my happiness,
Angela

MY THOUGHTS ON PLAGIARISM
Engish 1101,
My thoughts on Plagiarism is very simple, don’t do it! No creativity! A bit lazy! Too busy! I know what’s it like, but it’s wrong. It's so easy getting ideas from others, and it's sometime difficult making up your own, Right! So why even cheat yourself! Being authentic is the way to go with people of morals and character. So it's best to research for the task and from that add your thoughts and etc. For me, I’ll start with hundreds of ideas (research) and finish with my ideas (my conclusion) ...it's a good idea to add and not duplicate.
Angela
What is Plagiarism?
Plagiarism is the practice of claiming or implying original authorship of (or incorporating material from) someone else's written or creative work, in whole or in part, into one's own without adequate acknowledgement. Unlike cases of forgery, in which the authenticity of the writing, document, or some other kind of object itself is in question, plagiarism is concerned with the issue of false attribution. Plagiarism can also occur unconsciously; what constitutes plagiar ism.
Generally, although plagiarism is often loosely referred to as theft or stealing, it has not been set as a criminal matter in the courts. Likewise, plagiarism has no standing as a criminal offense in the common law. Instead, claims of plagiarism are a civil law matter, which an aggrieved person can resolve by launching a lawsuit. Acts that may constitute plagiarism are in some instances treated as copyright infringement, unfair competition, or a violation of the doctrine of moral rights may vary across cultures. WELCOME TO MY FIRST BLOG
Hello my name is Angela and I’m thrilled to be apart of English 1101. I’ve lived in Valdosta all my life, married for 18 years and the mother of two teenagers 15 & 13 yrs old. At the age of 38, I’m considered a non- traditional student, yes I know I’m a little late in the game, but I’m so glad I’m on the team! Better late than never!
My goal is Mastering Middle Grades Education; I've worked, as a sub teacher for some years and there is a need like you wouldn’t believe. At that time 60% of the students couldn’t write a complete sentence or read at a suitable level. I got angry and concerned and wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and that’s why I’m here. I believe without a shadow of a doubt, that our children can apply themselves and fall in love with education. I know it sounds a little corny but, that’s my vision…and I know I may not conquer the whole world but Valdosta, Ga is a start. There is sunshine after the rain!
